Hi, I’m Tracey, the founder and photographer behind Shutter Photography, a professional photography studio based in Kilburn, Adelaide.

My love for photography began at just 13 years old when I received my first camera as a Christmas gift. From that moment, I knew capturing life’s special moments through the lens was my passion.

After finishing school, I studied photography for two years while working as a Children’s Photographer during the day. I always dreamed of owning my own studio — but before making that dream a reality, I set off to explore the world. What started as a short European adventure with my sister turned into five unforgettable years abroad, and it was during that time that the name Shutter was born.

When I returned to Australia, I was ready to take the next step — and in November 2007, Shutter Photography officially opened its doors. Today, our Kilburn studio is a warm, welcoming space designed to bring creative visions to life.

​

As a mum to three wonderful children, I understand firsthand the patience, timing, and gentle approach required to capture perfect images — whether it’s a newborn curled up in their first photoshoot or a toddler celebrating their first birthday. I know what it’s like to juggle little ones, and I use this experience to make every session relaxed, fun, and stress-free for both parents and children.

• Newborn Photography – preserving those first precious weeks with natural, timeless images.

• Cake Smash Sessions – fun, colourful celebrations of your little one’s first birthday.

• Family Portraits – relaxed, genuine photos that showcase your family’s unique bond.

• Seasonal & Mini Sessions – Christmas, Easter, and Mummy & Me sessions with beautifully styled setups.

Our studio is filled with carefully sourced props and backdrops from around the world, allowing us to create one-of-a-kind setups for every client.

 

Over the years, our work has been recognised both locally and internationally. We’ve had the honour of featuring in International Kid Model Magazine and have received multiple awards from AFNS and AAPC, including Photographer of the Year 2022.
